MaxPox Epoxy Resin System

Specifically designed to meet the requirements and challenges of trenchless technology, MaxPox, our epoxy resin, is the result of many years of cooperation between chemical industry leaders Vantico, EMS and Huntsman. This epoxy-based system does not include styrene and therefore is virtually odorless during the curing process. It is also less hazardous and does not require the collection and discharge of process water during or after curing.

The mechanical bond between liner and sewer pipe, created by the MaxPox epoxy resin is very strong and consistent, preventing water infiltration (I/I) between the old pipe and the cured liner. Not only is corrosion eliminated, but tests have shown that the MaxPox epoxy resin stops root intrusions completely.

Description

  • MaxPox is a solvent-free, two-component epoxy resin, offering excellent adhesive ability on all sewer materials, even under very humid and wet conditions. The installation at the jobsite is easy and reliable.
  • Meets or exceeds ASTM F1216 requirements for CIPP installed using the inversion method.

Usage

  • The epoxy resin system MaxPox® 15 (resin, 100 parts by weight) together with MaxPox® 180(hardener, 28 parts by weight) was specially developed for quick and easy sewer service repairs. This resin system is engineered specifically for the CityLiner® sewer repair system.

MaxPox® 15 (Resin)

  • Colorless to pale yellow liquid.
  • Density at 25°C (77° F) = 1.09 g/cm3 (9.1 lb/gal).
  • Maximum Storage: Dry conditions; well closed @ 64-77° F = 2 years.
  • Meets NAFTA guidelines.
  • Available in 1000 kg (2200 lb) totes and 23 kg (50 lb) pails.

MaxPox® 180 (Hardener)

  • Light yellow liquid.
  • Density at 20°C (68° F) = 0.97 g/cm3 (8.1 lb/gal).
  • Maximum Storage: Dry conditions; well closed @ 64-77° F = at least 1 year.
  • Available in 900 kg (1980 lb) totes and 18 kg (40 lb) pails.

Mixing Ratio

  • 100 parts by weight resin and 28 parts by weight hardener.
  • Optimum mixing temperature = 68°F.

Pot Life

  • Once properly mixed at the recommended ratios, the pot life of MaxPox® 15/MaxPox® 180 epoxy resin system is 180 minutes at 68° F.
